Re-aligning the Stars 💫

Freshmen, fresh minds.

New academic year, new rules that we have to adhere.

As another academic year embarked, here comes the new students, new faculties and of course new school policies. Events were lined-up to discuss these things, such as General Assembly and Orientation. The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), known as the “stars” of Emilio Aguinaldo College- Cavite kicks off the back to school with a General Orientation.

Students attend orientation to learn about the school's rules and regulations, interact with teacher, and become acquainted with the other students as well. In this case, it is in the hands of SAS’ staffs to re-align the stars— they have to be awaken and be reminded of the do’s and don’t s, as well as their limits while at the campus.

The event was held last Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite Gymnasium. Dr. Jeanneth Velarde, School of Arts and Sciences Dean, started the event with her inspirational talk. Then, proceeding to the orientation proper, there were a total of six topics discussed at the said event, namely registrar’s office orientation, center for academic assessment and analytics, library services orientation, guidance and counseling services, ITC and system administration, and office of student affairs. The facilitator, head, and/or director of each office discussed the different rules that can also be seen in the student’s handbook. After they explained it thoroughly, there’s a segment called question and answer, wherein students can ask the facilitator a question, then answer it. In that segment, aside from addressing the students’ concerns, it also made the orientation a lot more lively and interactive. As we all know, exchanging ideas and information plays a big role in our lives because it makes us understand things more clearly and leaves us without doubts.

With this re-alignment, stars are now more than ready to light up the night sky and shine even on dark days.
